PhD Student
Georgie Sawyer is currently a first-year PhD student at Duke University in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science department. She completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech studying Biological Systems Engineering and Green Engineering. Her research includes investigating nanomaterials and biofilms. Using techniques in electro chemistry and fluid dynamics, she hopes to create new knowledge in these topics. She is passionate about using her discoveries to create a positive impact on human and environmental health. When not in the lab, she enjoys reading, cooking, and being outdoors.
